How to MAKE YouTube Videos 101: BEGINNER FILM KIT

10:48 PM

I've been making videos professionally and for YouTube for almost 3 years. I often get asked questions which is the best vlogging camera to use, or what is the best budget camera, or which camera should I buy to start?

Well here are MY secret budget friendly tips to meet all your camera and equipment needs...

What I've learned while I quickly approach 25 years of life...?

9:52 PM

I'm months away from the big quarter of a century... the big 25. I know that's still considered young - but I'm just like anyone at a certain age I'd expect myself to be more established and have my life more figured out. I remember when I was 12, 13, 14...
''When I'm 25 years old and an adult - I'll have money, my life figured all out, and everything will be perfect.''
But looking in hindsight - this was far from the case. I always waiting for something to happen.. and waiting is exactly that... waiting. Waiting for an opportunity, relying on something/someone to come and save me from my troubles; and guess what?
That day never came.
I spent five years in University for an arts degree that I don't use - because it made my parents happy, it made me not want to let anyone down, because it was the right thing to do because everyone else was doing it?

What does 'broke the habit' actually mean?

2:14 PM

2017 Overview and Mission Statement

Broke as in the slang term for living in a low income family, broke as in coming from a broken home, and broke as in the past tense of break - to overcome, to stop, a disruption from continuity.

Not to victimize myself or constantly bring up the past but it makes me who I am. You see, since I was a kid I just remember that feeling of helplessness. Growing up in one of the most expensive cities in the world has its serious consequences that you often don't hear about. My parents worked and still work labor intensive jobs while I was constantly surrounded around people who grew up in big homes, parents buying them cars for their birthdays, and not having to worry about if there would be another tomorrow....

Vancouver YouTubers: The Struggle of Finding a Community, and Why Most Fail

11:31 PM

Vancouver YouTubers, where y'all at?

Growing up and living in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada - you would think there's a a lot of Vancouver YouTubers/Content Creators/Creatives in general - and although I've stumbled across several 'big' YouTube channels - it seems there's a lacking in community/support/help with creators.

You might think that just might be representative of the culture of the city - known for cliques - high school mob mentality, social circles - but another reason might be for the upward trends in YouTube. What I mean by that is with more popularity in being a so called YouTuber comes the fact that.....

confidence

How to be more Confident and My own Struggles with Comprehending Self Worth

12:06 AM

I'm probably the last person you want to hear 'advice' from when it comes to confidence so.. why am I even bothering? Am I the most confident person in the world? Do I know the secret tips and hacks to have more self worth?

Yes and no.

I often refer to my past, even though one shouldn't, I like to give myself a pat on the back from how far I've come. When it comes to confidence it all stems from being exposed to a stimulus and still being able to analyze and act accordingly. This doesn't mean that I can't improve my own being and confidence - I'm still learning and growing as a person but here are some broadened perspectives when trying to comprehend one's own self confidence.

education

Why I hate school but love Education?

11:54 PM

Why do I absolutely hate school but love knowledge and education?

You see, being Asian, there's only one path - you go to school or die. I'm only partially joking here.

As technology and innovation occurs at an enormous pace the traditional school system will become obsolete - that's a given. The democracy of knowledge and the power of the internet will make yesterday's degrees a thing of the past. With the exclusion of typical must-have career choices for university degrees and credentials (e.g. doctors, accountants, etc.); school is a big conforming machine and I'll explain why I have such a lopsided hate towards it.

Every Asian Immigrant Parents' Struggle and Their Wishes in a Westernized Society

Every Asian Immigrant Parents' Struggle and Their Wishes in a Westernized Society.

Growing up with Asian parents, and being a first generation Asian-Canadian/American/Western - it comes with its fair share of a clashing of conflicts. On one hand you have parents who grew up, not only in a different era, but a different world. A world where you had to worry about surviving - food, shelter, are we going to live another day.

Where in contrast being born in a 'first world' country you have the luxury of being able to do what you want if you work hard enough. So you have traditional mindsets of the stereotypes of being doctors, pharmacists, lawyers, etc in order to make a living - and the reality is some Asian children listen and do whatever it is their parents want and it's essentially reinforced on to the next generation....

How to get your first 100 subscribers on YouTube? Understanding the noise and competition.

When it comes to starting a YouTube channel in 2016, it's definitely a daunting task. With everyone, literally, everyone, wanting to have a YouTube channel and start making profit from their videos - you don't want to be anything from the norm. Why? Because being the norm doesn't get you where you want. In this post I'll share you some of the things I've learned from posting videos on YouTube for almost practically a year. In regards to the first step...

comparing others

Growing up Poor, and How to Stop Comparing Yourself to Other People

5:21 PM

It often irks me when people try to talk to me about my childhood or family, strange of me, I know, but it's mainly because it's the root of who I am, and why I am.

Thing is, I grew up poor. There's things I still need to work on (of course) but I'm going to unravel a little about my life and my childhood; to maybe explain why the way that I am. People on YouTube tend to portray a certain persona or character on the screen and the real them is not really shown.

broke the habit

BROKETHEHABIT - The Vision for 2016

1:33 PM

After reviewing a lot of my responses which you can comment at MY FEEDBACK FORM

I know that there's a lot of things that I need and must work on to be better because it's something I'm working on, hustling on every damn day. I am very aware of how my videos aren't where they need to be or what I'm capable of. It takes time, practice and dedication. Truth is, if you bring it down to amount of work I've put in, I've only put in a solid 4-6 months of making videos over a time span of a year - while simultaneously worrying about school and work. It takes 10,000 hours to be an expert at anything and I'm still learning and growing; striving to get better.

How Much Money Do YouTubers Actually Make? Honest Truth Behind Making Money on YouTube

11:04 PM

How much money do YouTubers actually make? Well you'll be surprised that it's not as much as you think. Adsense is one of the revenue streams that YouTubers can make money off of.

It's essentially all the annoying advertisements that you see when you watch YouTube videos nowadays. It's a complicated algorithm that is at play but it is based off of a 1000 per advertisement impressions will give you a certain dollar amount. For example if a video gets 50,000 views with all 50,000 views being monetized then it will be the cost-per-impression as noted above (i.e. CPM). I talk about this in my video in more depth.

bodybuilding

What Working Out and Bodybuilding has Taught Me About Life and Success?

8:44 PM

When it comes to Success and my YouTube, and my future brand aspirations; I'm far from it. But that doesn't mean I have nothing to reflect on when it comes to the word - goals; and obtaining whatever you want. I'm not a Ronnie Coleman or Jay Cutler, but I use to be that fat kid that couldn't run a lap around the gym without throwing up or being the last to finish... or being the last one picked for the team when it came to gym class.

Instead of actualizing my potential, I believed what others labelled me as. A person who wasn't fit, below average, and lacked self esteem. Fast forward a couple years, I enrolled myself in Muay Thai classes, and lifting weights that people twice my size were lifting.

How to Believe in Yourself? (Have the Motivation to ACTUALLY Believe in Yourself)

6:10 PM

No one believes in me? I keep getting rejected? No one sees my own potential? The key is that this mentality creates a sense of dependency on ANOTHER individual(s). I like to refer to James Altucher's Choose Yourself book for a quick minute. We live in a society where they're gate keepers and we have to somehow be chosen by another individual to feel fully fulfilled; to feel worth something. This can draw parallels to employment, relationships, and so forth. However, as the tides turn, things like new media, entrepreneurship, and new technologies are being innovated every minute.

fouseytube

Why FouseyTUBE quiting YouTube and Yousef actually leaving YouTube has taught me?

6:37 PM

In the words of Kendrick Lamar, when stuff hits the fan, is you still a fan?

Yousef was one of the main reasons why I started up this whole YouTube thing again believe it or not. I didn't do it for the fame, not for money, but to be able to grow an audience that is like-minded and cultivate similar visions that I have on life; everything else is just a by-product. But at the same time, with exposure, comes hate, comes judgement, comes envy, and a myriad of other negative emotions and opinions. You're essentially like a modern day human punching bag.

moving on

How to Let Go, Destroy Negative Self-Talk, and Preconditioned Emotions of the Past and Future (Being Present)

11:53 PM

If you focus too much on the past, it brings out emotions of unforgiveness, anger, and resentment. If you focus too much on the future, you attract emotions of fear and anxiety; a lot of what if questions.

Well what are you supposed to focus on? The now, obviously. If you continually focus on the past and future, it's like a hamster running on a treadmill; one's already happened, and the other has yet to happen. Both in reality, which are out of your own control, are the causes of negative emotion, self-talk and any other ego-stroking emotions.

How to Be More Confident and Becoming the Strongest Version of Yourself

7:32 PM

Growing up, I always tried to be someone who I wasn't.. as bad as that sounds. Instead, what I needed to do was to really look within and acknowledge who I was at that current time and state and embark, not on someone else's journey, but my own. Rather than try to 'fit in' I needed to explore me, it was plain and simple.. but not really.

quiet

How to Overcome Shyness/Being Quiet

11:56 PM

For the longest time of my early years in life, I was known as the 'quiet kid.' Where in reality, I'd would rather self-label myself as the 'weird kid.' I was knew I had quite the quirky personality but the issue was I never really showed it, or I was too afraid to. Instead, I kept my thoughts to myself and let other people speak for me. Don't get me wrong, I am no where close to that extrovert who can round up a bunch of people in a persuasive argument, but now I can for sure hell try to. There are certain tendencies where my past behaviour of being quiet kick in but for the most part, I think I have come a long way from where I use to be.

haters

How to deal with Negativity II

2:20 PM

Being around people who will bring you down, criticize, judge, without much rationale is toxic. People should want to be around others who support their dreams, and support them in whatever they pursue. This type of mindset should be applied to everything.

moving on

When the party's over, get up and leave.

1:50 PM

You don't want to be that person who gets their heart broken and goes 10 years in their life being single and writing blog entries about how that person was horrible, in contrast, you don't want to be that person who instead of figuring themselves out, finds comfort in being promiscuous.

haters

How to deal with Haters and Negative People

1:54 PM

The limelight, it burns, not everyone can handle it. It comes with the territory of putting yourself out there, but that's a sacrifice I'll take for doing something I genuinely enjoy. You put yourself in the public eye, you lose a sense of privacy, you get judged, hated on, etc. on a daily basis. But we have to remember that it's only your interpretation of negativity that is hindering you from really growing as a person.
