I've been making videos professionally and for YouTube for almost 3 years. I often get asked questions which is the best vlogging camera to use, or what is the best budget camera, or which camera should I buy to start?


Well here are MY secret budget friendly tips to meet all your camera and equipment needs...



When I first started making videos I didn't have money to afford a fancy mirrorless or DSLR camera but I knew that it was not going to stop me from doing my passion - video making.

So fun fact - my beginner film kit set was my really old Samsung Galaxy S4 MINI 

Once I finished University, I set aside some money I had made from working odd end jobs during the summer and went on craigslist to buy my very first camera a Nikon D5200 and I still use it to this day.

As for a budget camera gear option I would recommend now (besides your phone) is that you
pick yourself up either a) VLOGGING camera or b) Entry-Mid DSLR/Mirrorless

For run and gun vlogs: I personally recommend the

Both are used by several vloggers and THE safest bet to go on - the Sony costs more due to its 4K capabilities; but I assure you - you can't go wrong with these.
