BROKETHEHABIT - The Vision for 2016
1:33 PM
After reviewing a lot of my responses which you can comment at MY FEEDBACK FORM
I know that there's a lot of things that I need and must work on to be better because it's something I'm working on, hustling on every damn day. I am very aware of how my videos aren't where they need to be or what I'm capable of. It takes time, practice and dedication. Truth is, if you bring it down to amount of work I've put in, I've only put in a solid 4-6 months of making videos over a time span of a year - while simultaneously worrying about school and work. It takes 10,000 hours to be an expert at anything and I'm still learning and growing; striving to get better.
But as far as I know I'm at the brink of making my channel look semi-legitimate. What does that mean? I'll let you extrapolate.
I didn't know not disclosing your subscriber count was such a big deal. It's not that I'm ashamed I'm an up and coming; I love the growth I've seen. Currently as I write this post, I'm at 1,700 subscribers; the cool thing about that is it took me almost a year to get 1,000 and in almost 2 months I almost doubled that. The end of 2016 I'm aiming for 10,000 - call me crazy, ambitious, ludicrous, but I'll take it with a whatever it takes mentality; it's not going to be easy, I know. It was just a mini-self made goal where once I hit 5,000 I would reveal it to show people how far I've come. But since a couple of people have commented about it, I guess it'll be at 2,500 - repetitive comments do get a bit annoying.
On to the vision and feedback.
Things I need to work on:

Things I need to work on:
- appear more confident; I'm guessing more myself and not a 'character'
- which I can completely relate to but I'm working on it - talking to an inanimate object as if it were a person takes time to get accustomed to; the more I do it, the better I'll get; as long as I'm being self-aware of my own merit and dedication
- be more personable; have more stories
- I've seen feedback where people have wanted a human element which I can also understand; call me PJ and think me as your distant cousin..? Or a brother from another Asian mother that you can talk to.
- more engagement - QnA - once I build up you guys; my family; my on-line friends, I will definitely consider having a free for all questionnaire about yours truly - via all my social media platforms
- more collaborations with other local YouTubers established or not
- this is a tricky one since there aren't a lot of locals who are open to or have the time but I'll definitely try my best to cross this off my list for the year
Things I DON'T need to work on: becoming a prank channel, a hey watch me kiss random girls channel, and any other non-original content; sorry folks.
The thing I love about YouTube is that it is a meritocracy - in other words, the person who shows their skill and ability can dictate however the videos are going to be made. Obviously I'm open to feedback but the direction of my channel is going to be changing very soon - for the better.
Vision: To create awareness about immigrant Asian families and second generation Westernized born individuals dealing with adversity of any kind - highlighting struggles with life, education, dating, and mental well-being, etc; the refugee hustle (reference to Joe and Kevin).
- humble potential brags include: aspire to be Vancouver's most notable Asian vlogger; I can dream right?
Things I'm currently working on on a technical level: better camera angles, be a more in-your-face but not being fake (it's a tough one, definitely do-able), create content that I can watch over and over again, have more opinions about today's topics emphasis on anything Asian; literally, grow my Instagram platform, update a my blog with a more modern theme. 2016, come at me. This ain't a resolution, this is a commitment to being better.
